CRORAMBO War, Imprisonment & Personal Testimony

Biography

A short biography, separating the author’s account from the documented record.

Editorial text · written for the 2026 reconstruction

Siniša Dvorski, also written Sinischa Dvorski and in Croatian press reports Siniša Stracaboško Dvorski, is the author and subject of crorambo.com. Little about his life is documented independently. What follows distinguishes what he says from what other sources record.

What he says

In his own chronology he lists arrests and convictions in Austria in the 1970s and 1980s, including a prison term of six years and eight months after killing two people “in close combat” while working as a bodyguard in 1983 (police record). In 1991, he says, the Croatian Army and intelligence service recruited him to form the anti-terrorist platoon ZEBRA, which he commanded. He describes being wounded on 23 and 28 August 1991 (medical record) and fighting in Bosnia in 1992. He says he was dismissed from the army on forged signatures after reporting “spies” among senior officers (military documents).

He states that he was arrested in Graz in 1996, handed over to Croatian police without extradition proceedings, tortured, and forced to confess to a killing he did not commit (petition). He dates his release to 15 March 2011.

What other sources record

Croatian newspaper clippings preserved in the original website’s own photo archive report that he was convicted of the 1996 killing in Vrsar of Anton Marčelo Popović, a former Croatian minister of tourism, and that he was released after serving fifteen years, with time in prisons in Požega, Lepoglava, Osijek and Rijeka (press clippings). The same reporting says he sought to testify before the Hague tribunal and that a pardon request was refused in 2007. The Croatian news agency Hina reported the killing of the former minister in 1996 (source register).

No independent record has yet been found of the ZEBRA platoon, of his rank, or of the military events he describes. These remain his account.
